Seasonal Classes

Note: I am currently taking a break from teaching these evening class series. I have some writing projects that are taking some time, so likely I will be on a hiatus from these evening options for a while. Email me to get on a potential list, if you are interested.

ElderberryHerb Craft Techniques- Winter Series

Be inspired to make your own herbal medicine- magical, delicious and healing! This is an eight week medicine making series designed to educate about the basics of herb craft. Each class will be 2 hours long and go over a different technique with hands on experience. Handouts which include instruction and recipes will be provided. Fun homework assignments that involve building a recipe book and practicing what we learned in class will be given weekly.

A Schedule for the classes follows: The Art of Making Teas, Honey Medicines, Infused Wines, Making Delicious Cordials and Elixirs, Making Infused Vinegars , Poultices and Compresses, Making Infused Fats and Oils , Salve Making

Dates and Times: Class is on Friday nights, from 6:00- 8:00. Class begins January and goes through February.

The cost of each class is $30, for a total of $240 for the eight weeks. This does not include materials. To register, you will need to contact me and send a $30 deposit to hold your spot, which will go towards our first class together. The remainder of the payment is due on the first class, in full. If you cancel the registration at any point, this fee is non-refundable. 8 people total is the limit for class.


Spring time ForestSpringtime Forest Medicine- Spring Series

This is a series of plant walks and harvesting workshops to learn and gather the medicine of the forest during the springtime. Learn how to recognize, harvest and use the common plants of the lowland forest, while taking time to honor and connect to this diverse and lush landscape. These Native plants have a wonderful history of edible and medicinal use. Enjoy detailed handouts and lectures that go over personal and historical uses of the plants, as well as recipes and many suggestions on how to use them. Though we will be outside no matter what the weather, we can look forward to a hot cup of tea inside to go over observations and handouts.

A Schedule for the classes follows: Conifer Trees, Deciduous Trees, Forest Berries, Understory Plants and Wildflowers, Harvest Western Red Cedar, Harvest Blackberry leaf and Thimbleberry leaf, Harvest Red Alder leaves, Harvest Conifer tips- Douglas Fir and Western Hemlock.

Making Dock MedicineAutumn Herbcraft Techniques-
